THAI MASSAGE COURSES
Thai Massage is a living art that has the power to release energy blockages and help realign the body. Yoga, acupressure, and mindfulness are the key components that make this massage world renowned. Level one and level two courses will be taught by Khinya Wade.
Mrs. Wade received her education in Chiang Mai, Thailand at world esteemed ITM School and is certified to teach level one and two through the Thai Ministry of Health and the NCBTMB. Khinya’s five month journey through Northern Thailand allowed her to witness the power of Thai Massage.

Learn the foundation of Thai Massage.

Course Schedule:
Monday- Friday 9am to 3pm CST. One hour lunch break at 12pm CST. Students wanting to practice more can stay after class till 4pm CST. This course is 30 hours.
Course Description: Level One Thai Massage will cover the supine position (feet to face). You will be introduced to the concept of energy lines (SEN) and Yin/Yang. Students will learn stretches, acupressure points, and proper use of body weight using thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet. There will be emphasizes on deep abdominal (Hara) work. Upon completion students will be able to perform an effective 1 - 1 ½ hour Thai Massage

Part Two: Energy Lines of the Legs
Part Three: Legs Massage and Stretching
Part Four: Hara (Abdomen) and Chest Massage
Part Five: Arm, Hand, Shoulder, Neck, Head, and Face

Course Description:
Level two Thai Massage expands on the techniques learned in Level I to cover the Side, Back (Prone) and Sitting Positions. You will learn advanced yoga like stretching movements. Upon completion students will have a substantial foundation of the major positions of Thai Massage and can expect to perform a comprehensive 1 ½ to 3 hour Thai Massage

Prior bodywork experience is not necessary to learn Thai Massage, however please be aware that Thai Massage requires a lot of lifting, use of bodyweight, and stretching.
A minimum of two students is required for a course and a maximum of six students can be taught at one time. Students who pass with a 70% on their practical exam will be certified through ITM, the Thai Ministry of Health, and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.
Any student wishing to partake in the ITM certified advanced practitioner teacher and training program (CAPT) will not have to retake level one and two at ITM in Chiang Mai, Thailand. American massage therapists wishing to take this course for a CEU will be certified through the NCBTMB.
Currently this course is only taught during our off season (November 2023-April 2024), however exceptions can be made if a group wishes to take the class sooner.

Courses need to be booked a minimum of two weeks before the desired date. Courses need to be paid in Full when booking. If you are not able to pay the full amount when booking your course then we are happy to set up a payment arrangement that fits your budget.
We are happy to afford guests the opportunity to reschedule your experience for a later date, however ALL experiences at Kirinyaga Wellness are non- refundable.
